Investing in AdBlue Infrastructure – a Focus on Safety and the Environment
UAB Gaschema, the country’s only manufacturer of AdBlue, informs about an infrastructure project it has implemented – the company has built a new overpass for filling the solution. According to the company’s representatives, the modernisation of the infrastructure will improve productivity, employee safety and reduce environmental impact.
The design of the new overpass is environmentally friendly, with a three-valve shut-off system, a drip trap, a stormwater drains inlet enclosure, a collection well and a drainage pump.
These options reduce the risk of the solution entering the environment and ensure lower environmental impact. The new overpass will also contribute to safer working conditions.
“In addition to environmental protection, we have also focused on the safety of employees by installing the descend steps with the enclosure on the overpass to ensure safe access to the filling operators. Every year, we invest in measures to ensure the occupational safety,” said Valdemaras Vareika, General Manager of UAB Gaschema.
The new overpass has also increased productivity, doubling the filling speed of tank trucks to 1 cubic meter per minute. It is also possible to fill several tank trucks simultaneously. The new AdBlue filling platform is 16 meters long and 3.2 meters high.
Gaschema sells over 100,000 tons of AdBlue solution per year. Its use in vehicles reduces emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), one of the most harmful pollutants to human health, by up to 90%. Heavy duty vehicles account for the majority of the solution in the country (92%), but the number of cars using this product has also increased recently.
