The companies of the “Achema” group are successfully implementing the strategic direction of sustainability
Installation and launch of solar power plants is further intensively implemented at the companies of “Achema” group. A few months ago, “Letenerga”, a branch of company “Iremas”, installed a 300 kW solar power plant on the roof, today green energy is successfully generated by solar power plants installed on the roofs of companies “Achempak” and “Transachema”.
Company “Achempak” has a solar power plant of 554 module units and 230 kW. It is expected that about 210-230 thousand kWh will be generated per year and that will amount to approximately 45 percent of the total electricity consumed by the company.
“It is a pleasure that the mounting and installation of the solar power plant was carried out by “Letenerga”, a branch of company “Iremas” which belongs to our “Achema” group. When installing this power plant, we also thought about the breakdown of risks related to electricity price fluctuations and sustainability, which is inseparable from the long-term goals of the company. It is great that the project was successfully implemented and we can already enjoy the benefits of the project,” stated CEO of “Achempak” Tomas Krejaras.
52 kW power plant of company “Transachema” is already generating electricity with the help of the sun as well. CEO Jonas Varkulevičius says that the company is not going to stop and intends to install another 50 kW solar power plant.
“In spring, we purchased an electric locomotive, which, when used, consumes from 3.6 MWh to 6 MWh of electricity per month preliminary. Meanwhile, a 50 kWh solar power plant produces between 3.9 and 5.4 MWh of electricity for us per month. Thus, the investments into green sustainability projects not only reduce the cost of services performed by the company, but also the amount of CO2 emitted into the air, because a battery-powered locomotive is used, 1000 to 1500 litre less diesel is consumed per month,” rejoiced CEO of “Transachema” J. Varkulevičius.
Currently, the installation of solar power plants is implemented intensively in other companies of the group.
