Palangos Vėtra awarded Four-Star Plus classification
The Palanga-based hotel Palangos Vėtra has been awarded an upgraded Four-Star Plus classification. Previously, the hotel held a standard four-star rating. The new classification confirms that the hotel not only meets the requirements of the four-star category but also distinguishes itself through enhanced services and a higher standard of guest experience.
In Lithuania, hotel quality classifications range from one to five stars and are based on the international Hotelstars Union system. The additional Plus designation is granted to hotels that offer a broader range of services, higher quality standards and supplementary features that exceed the baseline requirements of their category. The highest possible classification is Five-Star Plus.
According to Audra Vainoraitė, General Manager of Palangos Vėtra, the upgraded classification is the result of consistent investment in infrastructure, service quality and the overall guest experience.
“The Four-Star Plus classification is both an important recognition of our efforts and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service. Today’s guests value not only comfortable accommodation but the overall experience – the quality of service, the standard of relaxation, additional amenities, attention to detail and the ability to deliver a consistently high standard throughout their stay. This recognition confirms that we can offer more than a typical four-star hotel,” says Ms Vainoraitė.
She adds that the higher classification will also strengthen the hotel’s competitiveness in both the domestic and international tourism markets.
“We are seeing growing demand for high-quality leisure experiences in Lithuania’s resort destinations. That is why we continue to invest not only in our physical environment but also in the quality of our services, employee development and additional guest experiences. We believe this new classification will further reinforce the hotel’s position within the premium leisure segment,” she says.
Hotel classifications are based on an assessment of more than 200 criteria, including room standards, reception services, dining facilities, public areas, leisure and wellness amenities, staff competencies, technological solutions and other aspects that contribute to the overall guest experience.
Since 2025, updated hotel classification criteria have been in force in Lithuania and will remain valid until 2030. Developed in accordance with the requirements of the international Hotelstars Union system, the revised standards place greater emphasis on the needs of modern travellers, digitalisation, sustainability principles and service flexibility.
