Original street art masterpiece adorned the wall of a building
An original masterpiece of street art adorned the wall of one of the buildings within the territory of “Achema” factory currently housing Telecommunication and Information Technology Department.
“Modern and new buildings are probably pleasing to everyone’s eye. “Achema” took a creative approach and provided a delight for the eyes of the employees by means of artistic decoration of one building. As the employees travel to work or return home, they are welcomed or seen out by a colourful drawing, which creates very positive emotions,” summarised the Chief Executive Officer of “Achema” Audronė Kuskytė.
The mural depicts visualisation of a fragment of the factory. Several meetings were held with artist Tadas Šimkus and his team, various ideas for the drawing were discussed from a drawing symbolising the connection between a factory and a human being to nature motives and chemistry topics. Finally, an image related to the factory was selected.
“Since the territory of our factory in enclosed, no outsiders can enter it, thus, the mural was placed on the building, located next to the entrance to the territory of the factory, not by accident. It represents our factory in a certain way as it discloses and displays the inside of the factory in a symbolic manner,” highlighted construction engineer for operation of Chief Mechanic Unit of “Achema” Martynas Kaušas.
Preparation and painting took about a week. First of all, the artists covered the brick wall with background colour, and then, at night, they drew the outline of the painting using a projector and completed the mural in a few days.
The colleagues suggest that the project can be extended and, in the future, more buildings of the company will be decorated with works of street art.
