Iremas branch Project Centre launched its 1000th project
The Project Centre, a branch of the company Iremas, has reached a significant milestone with the commencement of its 1,000th project. This figure reflects not only the scale of completed work, but also more than two decades of accumulated engineering expertise and the ability to deliver projects of varying complexity.
Over the years, the Project Centre has followed a steady path of development – from its early beginnings in boiler plant design, when the Energy Projects Centre team transitioned from former Pramprojektas specialists into broader industrial design – to its current portfolio spanning multiple sectors. Today, the centre works across manufacturing facilities, warehousing and logistics infrastructure, as well as renewable energy and defence-related projects.
According to Project Centre manager Linas Kuzminas, the branch has remained committed to industrial design while continuously adapting to changing market needs. It has expanded into modern energy solutions, entered the defence sector, and opened up opportunities in nuclear energy, where work related to the decommissioning of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant alone is expected to continue for decades.
“We recently launched our 1,000th project. We have reached this milestone over 22 years of work. There have been all kinds of periods and events – economic crises, wars, currency changes, and a pandemic – and throughout all of this we have overcome challenges, moving from traditional energy into manufacturing, industry, and logistics, later expanding into renewable energy and defence. We are proud of this experience and, despite current uncertainties, we continue to look ahead. One naturally wonders what comes next – what projects will follow after another 500, or even another 1,000,” said L. Kuzminas.
Among the most notable projects delivered by the Project Centre are fertiliser production plants, waste-to-energy facilities, wind and solar farms, as well as biogas and other renewable energy installations.
