Delegation of foreign banks’ representatives interested in the construction site of Pagėgiai wind farm

More than 20 guests from Lithuania and abroad, together with the representatives of Achema Group and Renerga, visited the Pagėgiai Wind Farm construction site, which has already started. Among them were representatives of the banks that financed the project – Nord LB, KfW IPEX and the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB), technical consultants and lawyers, as well as representatives of the wind farm manufacturer Nordex and the main contractors Merko statyba and Stiemo, which are carrying out the construction works.

Mindaugas Juodis, CEO of Renerga, shared that during the two-day visit to Lithuania, the guests had the opportunity to get to know the team implementing the wind farm project, to see up close how the construction of the wind farm is going, and to learn about its course and progress.

“We signed the financing agreement a few months ago, so we wanted to invite the partners’ representatives on this occasion to give them a visual demonstration that the project is not only on paper, but is actually under construction at the construction site. Until now, we had only communicated at a distance with most foreign bank representatives and consultants, some of them we had never seen before, so this was a great opportunity to meet and get to know each other face to face,” said M. Juodis.

Paulius Petraška, Technical Director of Renerga, said that construction in Pagėgiai district has already started – about 90% of the roads have been built, and the foundations for the first wind farms have been laid. The foreign guests were interested in how the works are planned and organised, what is the sequence and timing of the works, what are the next planned works, asked about the technical part of the project, etc.

“The guests were particularly interested in the area where the Pagėgiai wind farm will be built. They were interested in the history and geography of the place, as well as in our choice of why the wind farm is being built here. By the way, most of them were visiting Lithuania for the first time,” emphasised Mr Petraška.

According to colleagues interviewed, such meetings with clients, partners and financiers are very important – they strengthen business relations, ensure smoother communication during the implementation of the project, and lay the foundations for possible successful cooperation in the future.

“The foreign guests not only met our team, from the Chairman of the Board to the project managers, but also talked with our contractors and wind turbine manufacturers. So they had the opportunity to ask them questions, exchange relevant information and hear not only from us but also from the people who are directly involved in the construction work. At the same time, we also talked about future projects, as we are already preparing for the second phase of wind farm development,” said M. Juodis, CEO of Renerga.
