Agrochema is investing 1.3 million EUR in the installation of modern fertiliser containers

Agrochema, one of the largest agribusiness companies in Lithuania owned by the UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ, is expanding its network of liquid fertiliser containers. By the end of November, the company plans to install 4 new KAS-32 fertiliser storage facilities with a loading and unloading station in Kėdainiai for the convenience of the farmers.
Containers with a total capacity of 12 thousand tons will be installed in the territory of Kėdainiai elevator of Agrochema on Pramonės street. The investments into new containers will amount to about 1.3 million EUR. By the end of this year, the farmers will be able to buy KAS-32 fertiliser at this new distribution point in Kėdainiai.
“The demand for KAS-32 fertiliser is growing every year: the farmers are increasingly purchasing this fertiliser in larger quantities. We respond to the needs of the farmers and strive to make quality fertilisers produced in Lithuania as accessible as possible. It is not a coincidence that the new storage containers are being installed in Kėdainiai: this area is known for the most fertile lands and active agricultural activity is carried out there. This makes it important for farmers to have easy access to the fertiliser they need for efficient farming,” says Erikas Bėrontas, the CEO of Agrochema.
According to E. Bėrontas, the country’s farmers are investing in the equipment adapted for the use of KAS, which is why the development of the network of these fertiliser storage containers is becoming especially important. So far, the closest distribution point where the farmers of Kėdainiai were able to buy fertiliser KAS-32 has been in Jonava, the installation of the new containers will make the fertiliser delivery and pick-up faster and easier for the farmers.
Modern containers exclusively designed for the storage of KAS will ensure the highest quality of the fertiliser and the required chemical properties. Before filling the containers with fertiliser, thorough testing will be performed. In addition, the containers are installed in accordance with strict environmental requirements and solutions that ensure that fertiliser does not get into the environment in the event of an accident. The KAS-32 fertiliser distribution point in Kėdainiai will be able to efficiently serve over 30 vehicles per day.
According to E. Bėrontas, although we are investing in the expansion of the KAS storage network, the demand for this fertiliser produced by Achema AB is still outstripping the supply. The farmers are increasingly choosing liquid fertiliser as the plants absorb liquid nitrogen fertilisers better, with less stress when spraying it on the leaves. Moreover, KAS can be mixed with other products, so several spray works can be done in one trip: to save both the resources and the environment. For this reason, it is important for the farmers who are seeking the highest yields to obtain this product as early as possible. Ordering fertiliser in autumn or even in summer ensures that the fertiliser is delivered on time: in spring, when the plants need it the most and when it is best absorbed. The fertiliser produced by Achema AB meets the highest European requirements and its production is carefully monitored.
It is one of the country’s largest agribusiness companies actively expanding their operations in the Baltic States. The company sells all types of liquid and solid fertilisers, crop protection products, seeds, feed and feed additives, peat products, and marked diesel fuel produced by Achema AB. Agrochema also purchases various grains, provides services for drying, cleaning, and storage of grain.
