In 2018, the revenue of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ increased, while its profit decreased

According to the audited consolidated data, the group of companies managed by UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ has generated EUR 914 million of consolidated income over the past year, 12% more than in 2017 (EUR 818 million). However, consolidated EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) amounted to EUR 46 million, while it was EUR 74 million in 2017. Over the past year, ACHEMOS GRUPĖ has invested EUR 69 million in production development, modern contemporary technology, development of new products and business acquisitions.

“The results of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ were mainly affected by the largest company of the group Achema AB which suffered a loss last year due to unfavourable price scissors and high additional charges. However, this did not affect the activity of other companies of the Group, most of them achieved similar or better results than in 2017. The growth of the revenue of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ was mainly influenced by successful activity of the companies of gas production and trading and renewable energy. We continue to strengthen our positions in strategic areas and to invest in businesses with high potential,” – says Mindaugas Deksnys, Chief executive officer of UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ.

In 2018, ACHEMOS GRUPĖ, that is actively working on renewable energy, acquired the wind farms of 60 MW of installed power in the Czech Republic and Croatia. Along with the wind farms operated by the companies Renerga and Renerga-1 operating in Lithuania, last year the companies of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ produced 278.000 MWh of green energy. Other companies of the Group operating in Lithuania and abroad were consistent in continuing their investment programmes. Belgium-based BVBA Fertigent has expanded its infrastructure by 38.000 tons for larger loads, Central Klaipėda terminal has successfully implemented the latest terminal management system project, Gaschema has launched a new carbon dioxide production line, and Iremas has invested in purchasing a modern metal processing and painting equipment.

The companies of UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ have over 4,800 employees. In 2018, the wage fund of the Group amounted to EUR 91 million, while the average wage before tax was EUR 1.248 and exceeded the national average by 29%.

In 2018, the companies of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ paid over EUR 100 million of various taxes. Achema AB paid over EUR 20 million for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, EUR 5.4 million for public service obligations (PSO) and EUR 12.3 million for emission allowances.

UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ unites more than 50 companies working in the fields of fertiliser production and trade, agribusiness, cargo handling and logistics, renewable energy and other fields. The companies are located in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Germany, France, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic and Croatia. The products manufactured by the companies of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ are exported to more than 30 countries of the world.
