Karolis Dineika Award presented to Grand SPA Lietuva physician Dalia Vosylienė

The Karolis Dineika Award was ceremonially presented during the conference “Druskininkai: The Code of Longevity”, held in Druskininkai. This year’s award was bestowed upon Dalia Vosylienė, a long-serving specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, in recognition of her significant contribution to patient health and wellbeing, the development of health resort medicine, and the strengthening of Druskininkai position as a leading wellness destination.

The award was presented during the conference, where experts from the fields of medicine, health and wellbeing, science and tourism discussed longevity, healthy ageing, the importance of resort medicine and contemporary approaches to health promotion. The event also paid tribute to the legacy of Karolis Dineika, one of the most influential pioneers of Lithuania’s health and wellness system, whose ideas remain highly relevant today in discussions surrounding preventive medicine, physical activity and quality of life.

Dr Vosylienė of Grand SPA Lietuva has dedicated more than four decades of her professional career to patient rehabilitation and health promotion.

“It has been a remarkable 40-year journey, enriched by diverse experiences and accompanied by professional colleagues and the unwavering support of my family. I am deeply grateful to them,” said Dr Vosylienė while accepting the award.

Conference participants explored topics including the relationship between biological age and lifestyle, the importance of physical activity for longevity, metabolic changes associated with ageing, the health benefits of temperature-based therapies, and the role of modern health resorts in creating an integrated wellbeing system.

The organisers emphasised that Karolis Dineika’s long-standing principles regarding the importance of movement, hardening practices, rest and healthy habits are becoming increasingly relevant today. They also highlighted the important role that resort medicine can play in helping people maintain good health and quality of life for longer.

Held annually, the Karolis Dineika Conference brings together professionals with a shared interest in preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, resort medicine and longevity. It also serves as an opportunity to honour individuals whose work has made a significant contribution to the advancement of these fields in Lithuania.
