Employees plant their own oak grove
Continuing Lithuania’s tradition of forest restoration, the Agrochema team gathered last Friday for a tree-planting initiative in the Kėdainiai district. This year, employees planted 3,200 oak saplings by hand, establishing the company’s fourth green space alongside the spruce, black alder, and birch groves planted in previous years.
“This is undoubtedly one of our most beautiful and meaningful green traditions, one that attracts increasing employee involvement every year. By restoring forests, we contribute not only to cleaner air and a healthier environment, but also create an opportunity to come together, connect, and recharge ahead of the busy agricultural season. Whenever we plant trees, we do so on behalf of all our colleagues who were unable to join this meaningful initiative,” said Aušra Minkevičienė, Head of HR at Agrochema.
The National Tree-Planting Initiative is an annual campaign that brings together volunteers and forestry professionals across Lithuania to help restore the country’s forests. This year’s initiative is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of President Valdas Adamkus’ birth. To mark the occasion, oak trees – symbols of strength, longevity, and statehood – will be planted throughout the country in tribute to the President’s contribution to environmental protection and a more sustainable future.
This year’s National Tree-Planting Day will take place on April 25 at 10 a.m. in more than 40 locations across Lithuania. The list of planting locations can be found in the registration form: https://registracija.vmu.lt/. Join in!
