Symbolic tree connecting generations: veterans’ gift to Achema on the occasion of special anniversaries
As Achema celebrated its 60th anniversary and the Chemists’ Veterans Club marked 20 years of activity, a symbolic red maple tree was planted on the company’s grounds to commemorate the occasion. The tree, presented as a gift by the veterans’ club, symbolizes enduring unity, respect for the company’s history, and confidence in its future.
The planting ceremony brought together representatives of different generations, including club members, company executives, and administrative staff. More than a ceremonial gesture, the event became a heartfelt gathering that reflected shared values, long-standing experience, and a deep connection to the organization.
Welcoming members of the Chemists’ Veterans Club, Achema CEO Audronė Kuskytė thanked them for their lasting contribution to the company and congratulated them on the club’s anniversary.
“I warmly congratulate you on the 20th anniversary of the Chemists’ Veterans Club. You are the true ambassadors of Achema – the people whose dedication, responsibility, and values helped build the company into what it is today. Your contribution is the solid foundation on which Achema continues to grow and thrive. It is wonderful to see such an active and enduring club that not only preserves the company’s history, but also strengthens the spirit of community. Your experience is an invaluable asset to us,” said Ms Kuskytė.
Joana Tatarūnienė, Chairwoman of the Chemists’ Veterans Club, expressed her delight that the club was established in the same year the company celebrated its 40th anniversary, allowing every milestone to be marked together. Although twenty years may sound like a long time, she noted that the years had passed incredibly quickly.
“A tree symbolizes life and longevity, while the maple is among the first to awaken in spring, sharing its vitality through its sap. May the maple tree we present today grow strong, flourish for many years, and bring comfort with its shade and life-giving sap. We wish Achema and all of the plant’s employees continued success – may difficulties stay far away, and may you always have everything you need,” Ms Tatarūnienė wished.
Following the tree-planting ceremony, guests continued their conversations in the warm and welcoming setting of the company’s library-museum, where memories, heartfelt discussions, and a genuine sense of togetherness filled the atmosphere.
The initiative once again highlighted that Achema is more than just a company. It is a community where every person matters, where every contribution is valued, and where the bonds between generations continue to bring people together.
