KLASCO successfully completed onshore wind farm project

KLASCO announces the successful completion of the first onshore wind farm project in the port of Klaipėda. Investments into advanced loading equipment and modern technological solutions have allowed the company to operate on Smeltė Peninsula, offering and providing the clients with heavy and oversized cargo handling services.

The onshore wind farm project on Smeltė Peninsula has become a significant test for both the new infrastructure and the team of KLASCO. From the beginning of 2024 until the middle of summer of this year, ten ships were welcomed, delivering equipment to Pagėgiai Wind Farm.

During the entire project, 40 wind turbines were reloaded: 120 blades, each 80.5 meters long and weighing approximately 32 tons, as well as 229 tower parts and 160 other components. All of these cargoes are oversized, heavy loads that require extremely careful planning, precise work, and great responsibility.

According to the CEO of KLASCO Vitalij Muštuk, this project opens a new stage of KLASCO activity as the company established itself in renewable energy cargo logistics.

“The acquired experience and practical solutions became the foundation for further projects, which require the highest level precision, promptness and teamwork. We are convinced that for the team of KLASCO all this is just the beginning – the acquired knowledge and lessons learned will be applied in future projects, the number of which in the market is constantly increasing and the demand for green energy solutions is growing” explained V. Muštuk.
