Power transformers switched on for a trial period at Piktupėnai electrical substation
“LT Energija” is developing Pagėgiai wind farm, where the installation of 40 wind turbines is currently underway.
Piktupėnai 330/30 kV electrical substation, equipped with two three-winding 170 MVA transformers, has already been built and connected to “Litgrid” transmission network to connect wind farms. On the 15th of May 2025, 330 kV voltage was applied to these transformers for a test period of 72 hours.
The electricity generated by wind farms will reach power transformers via 30 kV cables, where it will be converted and transmitted to 330 kV transmission lines of “Litgrid” and to end users.
