Kaunas club of human resource managers visited company “Achema”

Kaunas club of human resource managers visited Jonava on the 16th of October. The guests took the exceptional opportunity to visit company “Achema”, the largest manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizers and other industrial chemical products in the Baltic states, which will be celebrating the 60th anniversary next year.

During the tour of the company a group of 30 people circled the huge territory of the company by bus, the area of which amounts to 360 ha, which equals to 440 football fields. The territory of the company has a railway track system installed, the length of which equals the distance from Jonava to Kaunas.

During this tour Chief Engineer of Production Control Department of the company Mantas Sungaila outlined the history of “Achema” to the members of human resource club and invited to watch a movie about the company, also talked about the development of the company, the applied manufacturing procedures and social responsibility.

The colleague giving the tour to the guests highlighted that “Achema” exports more than 80 percent of the production to Western and Middle European countries, Scandinavia, therefore, it is one of the largest Lithuanian exporters. Moreover, it is one of the biggest employers in Jonava district as the company employs approximately 1200 employees.
