Žiemos Port in Klaipėda visited by Danish shipping company

Klaipėda port was visited by the owners and managers of Danish shipping line “Baltic Shipping”. The ships operated by this company visit the terminals of “Klaipėdos jūrų krovinių kompanija” (KLASCO) regularly. The production manufactured by company “Achema” is also transported by KLASCO, it is loaded within the territory of Žiemos port.

“It is of particular importance to us that the products we produce are promptly delivered to recipients across Europe, therefore a smooth, efficient logistics chain is of utmost significance, it requires good communication, coordination and precise planning of all participants. The ability to ensure excellent quality of the procedures from production to rapid transportation by land and sea until successful delivery to our end users is the key to success, ensuring safe, high-quality and operative delivery of the production. It is a mutual benefit both for us as the producers and for our clients”, – stated the Head of Logistics of “Achema” Jolita Augūnaitė.

Danish shipping company “Baltic Shipping” operates 92 ships in Europe and the Baltic Sea in total. On average KLASCO receives approximately 200 ships of this company per year. These ships are loaded in the terminal located at Žiemos port. This year 26 ships of this company were loaded and headed to different ports in Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain, Ireland, Spain. The essential tendencies and future plans were discussed during the meeting, new technologies were overviewed, that contribute to implementing the loading works in faster and safer manner, since more efficient management of loading can decrease the ship downtime significantly as well as increase the efficiency of shipping. It is planned to further develop the commercial connections in the future.

“The terminal located in Žiemos port is well-fitted for high quality and fast loading of ships as well as operatively ensuring logistic chain for cargo of Lithuanian nature. We will strive to ensure that the loading procedures are carried out without any interruptions as it is of utmost importance for us to meet the expectations of our clients. It is our concern to ensure that the cargo arriving to Klaipėda port are loaded into ships in operative and smooth manner through KLASCO terminal and subsequently successfully reach the clients of “Achema” across the Europe. We constantly invest and modernise the technologies, in order to ensure more smooth loading and logistic procedures in the future,” highlighted the Chief Executive Officer of KLASCO Vitalijus Muštuk.
