The winner of the tickets to the Olympic Games was announced
While looking forward to the biggest sports event of the year – the Olympic Games – the radio hosts of radio station “Radiocentras” kept reading various sports-related stories registered by the listeners, for a fortnight. The stories participated in the competition to win tickets to the Olympic Games. On Friday radio host Vitalijus drew out a piece of paper with the name of the lucky listener, who will travel to Paris.
This time fortune smiled for Danielė. This listener entered the final during the very first week of the competition after registering the story about the secret of success in swimming.
“Back then my secret was a photograph of swimmer Rūta Meilutytė printed using a black and white printer, later on I also used it on the telephone screen. In the long run the portrait of the swimmer faded because of chlorine, I was no longer successful, we didn’t have a printer at home anymore, and thus I had to change the field of sports. I do not know, if it is true, but people around me, my friends and relatives, claim that even if I had not become such a good swimmer as Meilutytė, but visually we are very much alike, so I keep on thinking, what if I had another photograph printed, how would it have turned out,” told the participant of the competition.
After more than a week, when we called Danielė once again, this time bearing news that she was the one to win the tickets to the Olympic Games, it was difficult for her to wrap her head around it.
“I did not expect it at all, I am so happy. My hands are shaking, I feel so grateful,” rejoiced Danielė.
The winner and her friend received:
- Tickets to watch discus throw live on the 7th of August at the national stadium in France;
- Plane tickets Vilnius-Paris-Vilnius;
- 2 nights at the hotel and breakfast;
- Additional benefits from the organisers (ticket for traveling the public transport conveniently, souvenirs, and personnel assistance when necessary).
The prize was offered by LTeam – Lithuanian Olympic Team.
