“Flowserve” training in the Netherlands

The engineers of company “Iremas” Vytis Juozaitis and Chudnyi Yevhen together with a team from “Achema”, which was composed of mechanical engineer Valerij Golubov, maintenance and planning engineer of dynamic equipment Egidijus Kilmanas as well as senior engineer for repairs Mindaugas Vackonis attended “Flowserve” training in the Netherlands that lasted several days. During the training course they learned the basics of mechanical sealants.

“During the training we learned about various types of mechanical sealants, their components and functions. We also discussed very specific matters such as constructions of the sealants and characteristics of the liquids, which impact the selection of the sealant. This training course was really very useful: we have not only gained theoretical knowledge, but also acquired practical skills, necessary for efficient use of the mechanical sealants in various branches of industry,” as summarised by engineer of “Iremas” V. Juozaitis after the return from the Netherlands.

According to engineer of “Achema” M. Vackonis, along with the theoretical part a lot of attention was paid to the practical assignments, during which the participants were taught how to properly dismantle, assemble and test “Flowserve” mechanical sealants.

“During the trainings we delved deeper into the importance of sealant operation environment in order to ensure their long-lasting and successful operation, we discussed the advantages and disadvantages of various materials, used in the production of the sealants. We were taught how to perform the equipment tests and what are the most frequently used pipeline plan projects and their purpose. We have also been invited to visit the factory of “Flowserve” mechanical sealants and their components, centrifugal pump repair and spare part manufacturing department,” highlighted the engineer.

After the completion of the course the entire team of engineers sat at the desks and took a very important exam. We proudly congratulate our colleagues since the exam was passed successfully, therefore, another certificate, which certifies the acquired knowledge and skills was received and contributed the qualifications held!
