A popular hotel in Klaipėda has been renovated: the cosiness and the view from the windows are simply enchanting
The Old Mill Conference Hotel, located on the seafront in Klaipėda, has been renovated and is changing its name to Old Mill Comfort. The new name and modern décor promise to meet the expectations of guests looking for a quality and comfortable stay in a boutique style.
The hotel, located in a historic ferryman’s house, has focused on the details of comfort, helpfulness and individual attention to each guest, says Audra Vainoraitė, director of the company Palangos Vėtra, which manages Old Mill Hotel” and Old Mill Comfort hotels in Klaipėda, and the hotel in Palanga Palangos Vėtra.
“A good holiday is a great luxury these days. Guests staying at Old Mill Comfort” enjoy quality and tranquillity – it’s a boutique, small hotel with low footfall and thoughtfully designed interiors. The views from the windows are enchanting – the castle, the Danė River and the yacht quay. And when you want romance, you don’t even have to leave the room, just lie comfortably in the bay window – the boats passing by seem to take your mind away, too,” says A.Vainoraitė.
Both lovers of refined taste and the most discerning eaters will not go hungry – the restaurant Mosso, which has already become a culinary beacon for the residents of Klaipėda and its guests, will satisfy their passion for delicious food here.
For those who appreciate comfort and quality of life
Guests who travel extensively and have a lot to compare with no longer want to stay in old-fashioned, noisy and large hotels. People’s expectations are rising, and they increasingly want not only to sleep comfortably in a hotel room, but also to regain their mental and physical strength and to receive quality service, says A. Vainoraitė. Old Mill Comfort will appeal to those who value comfort and quality of life.
The facade and interior of the building were completely renovated in 2021, with a budget of more than 740 thousand euros. Inside, the hotel’s interior is dominated by modern classics and softer, pastel colours. The colour palette is maintained in all rooms and complemented by carefully considered, cosy lighting. Each room has stylish décor, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, telephone, hairdryer, reproductions of works by artist Dalia Kirkutienė and original clay decorations.
According to Vainoraitė, the needs of regular, long-term guests were the first consideration during the reconstruction.
“Some guests stay in the hotel for a year or two. To make it easier for them to stay away from home for long periods of time, we have equipped several rooms with kitchenettes. We have also increased the number of deluxe rooms, which are considerably more spacious, which is also important for longer stays or for family visits. Overall, after a full renovation, the feeling of cleanliness seems to be stronger, and the bed linen rustles more comfortably,” smiles the hotel director.
The hotel’s conference room has been renovated and the picturesque Klaipėda waterfront can also be enjoyed during larger gatherings. It can comfortably accommodate up to 100 people, with modern equipment for work and entertainment, natural lighting and blackout facilities. It is ideal for business meetings, family celebrations, banquets, weddings and anniversaries. The impeccable quality of the events is ensured by a qualified and helpful staff – people work here with great love, attentiveness, openness and willingness to help.
The restaurant has a very high standard
The Old Mill Comfort Hotel is joined in 2022 by the completely renovated Mosso restaurant. Visitors appreciate the restaurant’s exquisite menu, which seamlessly blends modern European and Asian flavours. The menu itself is changed according to seasonality and customer demand, so the dishes are always made with only the freshest ingredients and without compromising quality. According to the chef, austerity is not the way to keep the bar high.
“I hear from more than one person in Klaipėda that they come to this restaurant for lunch. Because it’s not just a lunch for the day – you can bring your business partners here too, because the bar for presentation and service is set very high, and the customer is the focus of all attention. Hotel guests are also served thoughtful, sophisticated, tasteful-looking and tasty snacks during conferences,” notes the Director of Old Mill Comfort.
Eglė Laurinavičiūtė, Director of Mosso Restaurant, adds: detail, precision, long-lasting flavours, cordial communication with guests and a cosy atmosphere are the restaurant’s core values that drive the team forward.
The restaurant’s windows offer a charming setting with views of Lithuania’s only drawbridge and the castle, connected by the calm flow of the Danube River. It’s the perfect place for a slow brunch, an important business meeting, a family lunch or a romantic dinner while counting the passing boats.
And after dinner, there’s nothing else you need to do – just sit back in your hotel room, enjoy quality relaxation and the soul-satisfying ability to get away from it all and do nothing.
