Fertilisers developed together with customers are already in farmers’ hands
Last week, Agrochema’s product development team met with farmers at Agrochema’s Viduklė Agricentre to discuss the idea of the composite macronutrient fertiliser NKS+AMINO.
“After proposing this product to customers during the Innovation Workshop, we started thinking about 2022,” says Mantas Kačiušis, Product Development Specialist at Agrochema. During laboratory experiments and research, various raw materials were tested, different product prototypes were developed, and the best variant was selected for production trials, which have already been made available to all farmers.
“In the past, we used to use urea solution and to improve the result we added potassium sulphate. We used to buy it in bags, dissolve it and it took a lot of time. So the idea was born to propose to Agrochema to combine these products into one fertiliser. Now, all the power that plants need is in one product,” says farmer Alfredas Bardauskas, one of the authors of the NKS+AMINO idea.
The concentrated, balanced nitrogen, potassium and sulphur fertiliser with amino acids is designed for additional and qualitative foliar fertilisation of cereals, leguminous crop and rape.
Nitrogen, in the form of nucleic acids, promotes nuclear cell division and development and increases plant productivity. The potassium in this product ensures a good water balance and cellular transport of elements, reducing plant stress under unfavourable growing conditions, especially during drought. Sulphur is essential for the synthesis of plant proteins and the efficient uptake and use of nitrogen. Amino acids stimulate enzyme synthesis and help to maintain plant productivity, resistance and immune system.
Agrochema recommends using the new fertiliser after flowering, at the seed development stage, to increase grain size (in legumes before and after flowering). At this stage of growth, nitrogen stimulates photosynthesis, increases the protein content of the grain, and helps the plants to stay green longer.
To thank the team of farmers whose idea led to the development of the NKS+AMINO fertiliser, Agrochema was the first to give them the still “hot” products.
