Erikas Bėrontas has been appointed the CEO of Agrochema, one of the largest fertiliser trade and agribusiness groups in the country, which manages Agrochema, UAB, Agrochema plius, AB and other companies. By the decision of the Board, on the 10th of June, Darius Karpavičius was dismissed from the position of the CEO.
“We have asked Mr Erikas Bėrontas to become the head of one of the strongest agribusiness companies in the market. We appreciate his competence, managerial skills and hope that the new CEO will give the companies an incentive to grow, innovate and better meet the needs of the clients,” says Gintaras Balčiūnas, the Chairman of the Board of Agrochema, UAB and Agrochema plius, UAB.
“I appreciate the trust and the opportunity to join such a large and strong team. There are great challenges ahead; in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we need to be progressive, optimal and efficient, offering quality products and services to our farmers. The last few years have been rather complicated for the farmers due to weather conditions, and our strength therefore depends very much on the strength of the farmers. My experience in the agricultural and financial sectors will allow us to find a good understanding and cooperation with the farmers, we will have to review the strategic goals of the companies, to evaluate the pricing and to offer the market a wide range of Lithuanian products and services,” says the newly appointed CEO E. Bėrontas.
Before coming to Agrochema Group, E. Bėrontas had worked as the Director of the National Paying Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture since 2014.
Last year, Agrochema Group earned EUR 252.4 million of consolidated income. Agrochema, UAB manages Estonian Agrochema Eesti, Latvian Agrochema Latvia and Agrochema, Žemaitijos grūdai, UAB, Agrochema plius, AB and Joniškio elevatorius, UAB. The companies of Agrochema Group have around 500 employees.
