Investments

Major investments of the Company in 2011 were related to further development of energy, handling and logistics services.

In 2011, the biggest company of the Concern - Achema completed 100 million value construction of the second 47 MW cogeneration power plant. An implementation of the project, together with the first 22 MW cogeneration power plant, will allow for the company to provide close to 100 percent electricity of it own.

A year ago the company Achema finished a big project that lasted for three years. This project was devoted for the construction of new workshops and modernization of old ones. Also it dealt with energy saving and pollution reduction problems. 30 percent of the program funds were dedicated for the pollution reduction matter. While implementing this project the CO2 emission to the atmosphere was reduced up to 1.3 million tones per year.

The largest port company AB KLASCO expanded grain terminal in the Klaipeda port and the bulk fertilizers terminal expansion project is in the progress.

During the 2010-2011 years the basic designing work started in the Mockava Intermodal Terminal construction process.

The company Renerga that produces energy from renewable sources had finished Benaičiai wind farm development in the Kretinga district. The total investment reached 210 million. It is the biggest 50 MW wind park in Lithuania nowadays. The company Renerga also has 1.5 MW hydroelectric plant, a modern Kavarskas 300 kW and Pastrevio small hydroelectric power plants.

The Company has implemented the largest geothermal heating project in the Baltic countries. The fitness and leisure complex Grand Spa Lietuva in Druskininkai now has geothermal heating, investment reached 6 million Lt. Also the reconstruction of sanatorium "Lithuania" was completed. Over the past five years the investment in Druskininkai together with the EU Structural Funds and the Lithuanian Environmental Investment Fund reached 150 million Lt.

In 2010 investments of the Group were about 80 million Lt. The capital injections provides a solid basis for the activities of the Achema Group company.
